PromptPad translates text inside the keyboard. You type a message in any app, tap a Translate shortcut such as "To Spanish", and the text in the field is replaced with the translation. You never copy, switch to a translator app, or paste back.

Use Preview mode when you want to read the translation before it replaces your text, then Apply it or Regenerate. Use Instant mode when you trust it and want speed.

A Translate shortcut can do more than swap words. Because it is an AI instruction, you can ask for "Translate to German and make it formal" or "Translate to English, keep it casual". You set this up once, as a custom translate shortcut.

The PromptPad keyboard types in 9 languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, Arabic and Persian. Arabic and Persian are written right to left on the keyboard. The free plan includes 2 of the 9 keyboard languages; Pro unlocks all of them. The app's own screens are in English.

The most common use is the other direction. You know exactly what you mean in Persian, Arabic or Spanish, and you lose precision in English. Write it in your language, tap a shortcut, and send English that says what you meant.

Apple Translate and Google Translate apps. Both are free and support far more languages than PromptPad's keyboard, plus voice, camera and conversation modes. For messages, the friction is the round trip: copy, switch apps, translate, copy, switch back, paste.

Translate from the text menu. iOS can translate selected text from the edit menu, and recent versions add live translation in some Apple apps on supported iPhones. It is handy for reading. For writing a reply in a third-party app, it takes more steps than one tap.

Other keyboards. Some keyboards, such as Gboard, include a translate feature. If you only need word-for-word translation, they work well.

PromptPad is the choice when you reply in another language often and want it in one tap, with control over tone. It is not a dictionary or a conversation interpreter.

• Write full sentences in your own language. The translation can only be as clear as the original.
• Keep names, numbers and links in your shortcut instruction: "Keep names and numbers unchanged".
• Already writing in Spanish or French? Use grammar in Spanish and French to tidy it without translating.
• After translating, you can still rewrite after translating, for example to make it shorter or more formal.
